Bio-diesel Lab

In our Bio-diesel lab we took the leaves of banana plants and shredded them up and put them in a jar with water and boiled it.  Then we proceeded to pour it into a bottle and cap it off with a rubber cork that had a glass straw.  The straw was what the gas traveled through to blow up the balloon.  We made bio-diesel.  It was an extremely interesting experiment and it will for sure blow your mind.

Trees and Shrubs

This is a pear tree.  This tree is very easy to pick out in nature because it has fruit that grows from it.  The tree is big and has many little white flowers growing from it.  It can be anywhere from 10 to 17 feet tall.

This is the leaves and fruit of an orange tree.  Yet another very easy tree to find in nature.  It has fruit growing from it and has little white flowers growing from it.  You can find plenty of these trees in Florida.

This shrub is an azalea shrub.  This shrub is very pretty in my opinion because of the thick purple flowers.  The entire shrub is almost purple.  It is thick and can be easily spotted because of the thick purple flowers.

Last but not least we have a gigantic redwood.  These trees are absolutely incredible because of how incredibly massive they are.  They are very easy to find in nature because of their size.

Mystery of the Megaflood

This movie was a fantastic film and it showed how a "megaflood" carved out a TON of land.  The theory was that a giant glacier dammed up the area and when it melted it flooded the area.  This happened many many times because there is different layers of dirt and erosion which proves that there was more than one of these enormous floods.  This film is very informative.  It will blow your mind seeing what nature can do.  The megaflood was interesting and really showed just how powerful nature really is.  I would suggest this film to anyone interested in nature and the "freak" nature occurrences.
